"FOOTBALL CLUB FORMED"
A meeting was held on Thursday 18 November at the spread eagle hotel. Mr J Woollons presided. Mr F Briggs moved, Mr Leathley seconded and it was agreed that a Football Club should be formed in Withernsea and the following officers were then elected :- Mr M Cheverton-Brown President,Mr W Wallis Hon. Secretary, Mr A Whitehead Treasurer. Commite:- Mr T Coverdale, F Briggs,G Sigsworth,F Leathley, W Shaw, Dew, W Bent, B Coverdale, G Wilkinson and G Start. It was recorded that Mr P Robson be asked to accept the captaincy.
